According to Huy Fong Inc., the company behind the ubiquitous rooster-brand sriracha hot sauce, the shortage is being caused by a heat wave-induced drought that has affected their chili pepper crops. Sriracha prices may be on the rise and, before long, it could even become impossible to get your hands on this famously delicious, garlicky hot sauce.

Don’t panic, though! There are a few alternatives to Huy Fong sriracha that should get the job done in your time of need. It’s maybe a smidge sweeter, but, to be honest, it’s possible that the promise of “blue agave” on the label just makes me think it’s sweeter. Either way, it tastes delicious!
